Among his peers' other talk-shows, Jerry's is of the more passionate and of the more sensational. His topics range from bisexual affairs to rape. His guests sometimes get out of control and yell and scream at each other, but they are more believable than some other talk-shows.

"Jerry Springer: The Opera" tells the story of a day in the job of world famous talk-show host, Jerry Springer. Jerry has to sort out a number of guests problems; including a man who wants to dress up as a baby, a man with 3 lovers (one of them a transexual) and a fat woman who wants to be a pole dancer. However, on this particular day, something out of the ordinary will happen...

This was a British version of the hot American TV series "The Jerry Springer Show", as this programme was so popular in the United States and all over the world, it was decided to try out a version in England. Jerry Springer appeared in a few adverts asking people to call for tickets to the show, asking "Why should the Americans have all the fun?"

Jerry brings his signature show to the UK for two years on daytime ITV.

The variety series was originally supposed to be 40 episodes long but only 13 episodes aired due to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.

The Jerry Lewis Show is the second version of the series that aired on NBC from September 12, 1967 to May 27, 1969.
